Lauren Batiste Adams is an abstract artist who creates bold, vibrant paintings inspired by the natural world. She is interested in the materiality of paint and the balance of the intentional and incidental in her practice. Lauren is a graduate of Fairmont State University and West Virginia University, where she holds an Interdisciplinary BA in Studio Art/French and a BFA in Visual Art. While at Fairmont State, Lauren studied with acclaimed landscape painter Lynn Boggess. Her work has been featured with Architectural Digest, Crate & Barrel, West Elm, Elements of Style, One Kings Lane, and Serena & Lily. Her paintings can be found in the collections of Kaiser Permanente, Nordstrom (Houston), Galleria Park Hotel (San Francisco), Emory Musculoskeletal Institute, and the West Virginia State Museum. Lauren lives in West Virginia with her artist husband, Derek Overfield, and their two cats.
